At the height of the pandemic, Grubhub wanted to show its support for struggling local restaurants.
We came up with the idea of contracting big-name talent—Dax Shepard & Ryan Hansen—to visit a local LA diner and create a new custom meal that would be exclusively available on Grubhub.
Thus was born Dax Shepard’s West Coast Coney Dog, and Ryan Hansen’s Loaded Tots. Alongside the campaign, the local restaurant also received a grant from Grubhub’s Restaurant Strong fund.
It was a blast to direct Dax & Ryan in this campaign, and work with our amazing culinary producer to help craft a delicious new meal that the diner could source long after we wrapped our shoot. The campaign was a success for Grubhub and for the diner, and we were tasked with doing it twice more: with WBNA legend Candace Parker in Chicago, and with popstar Natti Natasha in NYC.
